Today we have brand new details on a new movie project from the writer of the Twilight Saga, Stephenie Meyer. Fans of the author will be glad to know that the casting process for the film version of Meyer’s book “The Host” is in full-force, and a highly acclaimed young actress is taking the lead. According to Deadline, Saoirse Ronan will play the dual role of Melanie and Wanderer in the movie. The movie, like the book, will follow the story of Melanie Stryder, a human character who is one of the last to avoid being taken captive by aliens called Souls. The Souls take over human bodies, erasing their personalities. Ultimately Melanie is taken over by a soul called Wanderer. Wanderer is so taken by Melanie’s memories that it becomes impossible to fully invade her body. That said, Saoirse will play both characters — Melanie and Wanderer — as they locate a large group of humans hiding out underground from the Souls. Twi-hards are likely looking forward to another movie from Stephanie and hearing that an actress with the performance level of Saoirse is very good news.
